I'm a big fan of podfics, so I'm very excited to listen to yours!! Hopefully this letter will help you in your podficcing.

I've listed my fandoms in descending order based on my familiarity with them. (I used to say "familiarity/involvement," but I haven't been particularly active in fannish things lately, so that no longer feels true.)

Fandom-Specific Things

Note: I'm totally open to gen for all of these fandoms!

Men's Hockey RPF

No Blackhawks as the focus of the story. Mentioning the team as an opponent is okay. In terms of players on the team: stories about them before they were Blackhawks are okay.

No P. Kane, E. Kane, C. DeSmith, S. Varlamov, D. Doughty, or B. Leipsic. If there are names often included in that list that I've forgotten, err on the side of avoidance.

In the unfortunately likely event that a player is accused of something similar to the players listed above, use your discretion. (This includes, but isn't limited to, sexual assault/harassment, domestic violence, and use of offensive slurs. I'm sorry if this is vague, but I trust your judgment!)

For petty reasons: No Max Domi, including mentions. (I don't think he's usually on the aforementioned list, so I've listed him separately.)

Avoid the term "McJesus" for Connor McDavid. If you deem the fic otherwise perfect for me, please make a note of the term's presence in your notes so I'm warned.

Please keep Tyson Barrie and Alexander Kerfoot as Avs, and please keep Nazem Kadri as a Leaf.

Um...I can't think of any NOTPs in this fandom

I'm most familiar with the Pens, Avs, and Leafs, but I don't mind an excuse to learn about other teams! Heck, if you find something not involving the NHL, go for it!!

Women's Hockey RPF

Voiceteam got me interested in women's hockey for the first time in a long time, but I haven't had time to familiarize myself with it. Pretty much anything will do! (Hopefully the general tropes later in this letter are helpful.)

Ships: Apps/Duggan and Chu/Ouellette are the ones I don't want shipped with anyone else. Other than that, I'm not picky!

Men's Football RPF

No CR7, including mentions, despite me having written him in the past.

Um...I can't think of any NOTPs in this fandom

I'm most familiar with the Premier League, Bundesliga, MLS, and La Liga, but I don't mind an excuse to learn about somewhere else!

Tennis RPF

I know quite a bit about the EPL, so if you want to find something that highlights that, go for it! But if you don't, that's okay, too!

Things Not Specific to a Fandom

Note: This is based on Dear Author letters from past Hockey RPF exchanges. I think it's okay for other sports RPF fandoms as well, but it might not be as good for the other fandoms. Let me know if you have questions!

Podfic-Specific Things

I tend to read the original fic while listening to the podfic. I'm not sure if knowing that helps you in any way, but I figured I'd mention it.

On a possibly related note: If you want to include freetalk and/or outtakes, go for it, but don't feel obligated! (Considering that I never include outtakes, it would be rather hypocritical of me to insist that you include them.)

Things I like, but don't want you to feel forced into doing:

Music (I have no problem with words and music overlapping so long as the words are understandable)

Sound effects (especially the DIY kind I do a lot of in my own podfics)

Character voices and/or accents

A distinct tone for the narrator

Singing (enthusiasm is more important to me than perceived quality in this regard)

Things I ask to be warned for:

Gunshots/loud bangs

"Sudden noise" sound effects similar to the above-listed

Anything that might make me thing something's gone wrong with my computer/phone while I'm listening (ex. buzzing noises, beeping noises)

DNWs:

Sex sounds (panting/heavy breathing is okay in other contexts)

Gagging, vomiting, and similar sounds (a few spits in a row are fine)

For the record, I have blanket permission on my works. You may (and I would love!) podfic my written fics and/or repod my podfics for this event! The exception is works that involve my DNWs (such as older works featuring characters named as a "no" in this letter).
